Meet the Phenomenonal Founders of Omega Tau Pi

01  Vonnie Trimble

"Isis"

Founder Vonndiere  "Vonnie" Trimble was  born May 6, 1976.  She attended Scotlandville Magnet High School where she meet and bonded with the other Founders and there built a Sisterhood that would last for generations to come.  Upon graduation, Vonnie attended Southern University and later received an Associate Degree in Medical Technology & Records Management from Remington College in Lafayette. Vonnie's passion for life was unsurpassed. Her vibrancy could light up a room and things didn't get started until Vonnie got there. Her love and devotion to friends and family were unparalleled. Vonnie had a work ethic and compassion for her profession that only could be matched by her desire to help others before she helped herself.  Our dear sister was called home on March 28, 2011.  She is gone, but never forgotten.  Her life and spirit speak to us still through all she has touched.  We celebrate her as we continue to make strides  forward, continuing to build the bridges in sisterhood we set forth to do back in 1994. We honor her today and forevermore.

02  Zanovia C. Curtis

"Z'Licious"

Founder Zanovia Chube Curtis was born August 26, 1975 in Baton Rouge, LA.  She is a graduate of Scotlandville Magnet High School. Founder Chube-Curtis earned her Masters Degree plus 30 graduate hours, Masters of Education Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Southern University. She also has School Superintendent Certification. She is currently the Supervisor of Elementary Education/Federal Programs (West Feliciana Parish Schools) and co-owner of Innovative and Diverse Applied Educational Solutions, LLC.

Founder Zanovia joined Delta Sigma Theta (AT-Spr. 1997) SU, as well of members of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, Golden Key International Honor Society,  Order of Eastern Stars.  Founder Zanovia  is the wife of Terry Sr. and proud mother of 3 children (Terry Jr., Terralyn, and Trinity). Professionally, she presented at the ASASPA National Conference for Personal Administrators, is the North Captial Region Jumpstart Team Leader, and also sits on the Louisiana Standards Review Steering and Content Committee. Founder Zanovia has served as SMHS Band Booster Officer, SMHS Baseball Booster,  a Girlscout Volunteer, and also served with the PTO at her children's schools.   An example, a mentor, and a leader, Founder Zanoiva continues to forge forward to greater heights...laying a solid foundation for the generations of young ladies to come. Founder Zanovia believes that Education is the Key that Opens All Doors!

03  Veronica Gilkes

"Peacemaker"

Founder Veronica Gilkes  also  attended Scotlandville Magnet High School  where she meet her Founder Sisters and they grew a bond in dance and track.  Upon graduation, Veronica also attended Southern University with her sisters. Through fostering close relationships with each other, she was on board to forge this Sisterhood that would allow others to be apart of the same kind of experiences she had enjoyed. Developing friendships, relationships, and partnerships with other young ladies that could make a difference in each of the lives and communities at large.   Veronica has acted in several official capacities of the organziation continually throughout the past 22 years! Juggling her many commitments along with being a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines for a number of years, she is committed to seeing the organziation continue to grow and expand to the greateness for which it was orginally created.  To see young women grow into effective components to our socitey and effect change for the better in individual lives as well as collectively.

04  Sharvette Brock

"Brown Sugar"

Founder Sharvette Brock was born January 13, 1975 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Scotlandville Magnet High School in May of 1993 and went directly on to attend Southern University from 1993 to 1995. Founder Sharvette later moved to Houston, Texas where she went on to  attend Houston Community College.  It was here that she  received an Associate Degree of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Founder Sharvette is currently employed as an Environmental Administrative Specialist for an Oil and Gas Company in Houston, Texas . When she is not working, she enjoy's spending time with her three wonderful children.  They are truly her world.  Founder Sharvette's passion for family and friends aided in her decision to become a Founding Mother in Omega Tau Pi.  Her desire to see young ladies have an opportunity to "grow beyond their current circumstances" pushed her to forge forward in helping to build this sisterhood.  Togehter, she knew that they could form something lasting.  Something that would for ages to come, support, push, and prepare young hopefuls for a world that they could and would impact.  Founder Sharvette is committed to being a listening ear, a helping hand, and a loving heart to all.

05  Kayla Ford-Lewis

"Know It All"

A phenomenal, vivacious, charismatic, born-leader, and committed Sister, Founder Kayla Ford is a treasured gift, that we all had the privilege of knowing and loving.  Born on January 30, 1973, she was a caring daughter, a devoted sister, and a loving mother. Founder Kayla poured her life into helping to build others. Founder Kayla graduated from Glen Oaks High School. Upon graduation, she attended Souther University, A&M College with her other Founding Sisters. Through education, ministry, community service, and this sisterhood, she was dedicated to seeing strong relationships created and sustained which would produce positive impact in our communities and our world.  Her commitment to family and community was the driving force of her life.  She never took no for an answer, instead she was gifted to push forward with few or many.  A strong advocate for Education, Kayla served and worked in several educational capacities in the States of Louisiana and Texas.  Outside of her professional Educational career, she was committed to her Ministry of Music, as she was a part of several prominent singing groups from her youth up through adult hood. She traveled extensively spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song.  Our dear sister went on to glory, May 28, 2015. We honor Founder Kayla today and always, as we know she can never be forgotten.  We honor her by picking up the pieces and moving forward to building the dream we saw over 20 years ago, a united Sisterhood for the good of all. 

06  Nerissa Redditt

"Sedity"

Founder Nerissa Redditt was born November 19, 1975 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  She graduated from Istrouma High School in 1993, after which she attended Southern University. Founder Nerissa is currently pursing a Degree in Christian Counseling. Founder Nerissa named her many God given gifts “Rebirth Ministries.” Her unique presentation of the gospel has enabled her to minister to the saved and unsaved. She is honored that God has allowed her to impart the Word of God at various gospel ministries, youth fellowships and women’s conferences. 

 On November 17, 2010 she was licensed by Dr. Richard Rayborn, Sr. and Rev. Deidre Carter. She served diligently in the capacities of Choir director, A Youth/Young adult and Women’s Fellowship leader and an Assistant Minister at The Christian Assembly Full Gospel Church, while under the leadership of Rev., Dr. Richard Rayborn, II. 

  Evangelist Redditt is married to, Hoza Redditt, Sr. 

They have four beautiful children, Kaleb Hoza, Martique Angelle, Jayden Cardel, and Hoza Jr. Evangelist Redditt and her family travel throughout Louisiana and surrounding states not only ministering in word but also as The Redditt Family Singers. 

Evangelist Redditt's prayer is that the leaders in ministry everywhere come into the TRUE purpose of the Gospel so that the body of Christ is adorned and ready for His return.

Founder Nerissa is truly a force to be reckoned with.  She is the owner of She's Covered,LLC., a God inspired business specializing in Ministry Attire & Accessories for Men and Women alongsie other items. She has also launched a T-shirt line catered to women with Natural Hair called Aaah Naturale! and a thriving Women's Empowerment Fellowship called RESTORE! She is paving the way for young ladies in ministry and business as she strives daily towards her goals with devout integrtiy and excellence, always bearing in mind that her life is to serve a greater and bigger purpose than herself.  Her dedication to God, family, and friends is evident in her passionate love for them all.

07  Taisheka Johnson

"Vogue"

Upon graduating from Scotlandville Magnet High in 1993, Founder Taisheka Johnson enrolled in Southern University in the fall and majored  in Electrical Engineering. She was Miss Black & Gold 1996 and Captain of the Smith Brown-Memorial Union Look Dancers 1995-1997. She accepted her call into the Ministry & relocated to Atlanta,GA in 1998 where she also worked for Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. (TBS) at CNN in International Distribution & Development.  A passionate Worshiper, Taisheka is the Founder of  the International Prophetic Worship Ministry, Order My Steps, Inc. which was established in 1998.  Through this ministry, she has trained 100's of young women & men in dance, drama, and song, and ministered to 1000's throughout the States and abroad. She has also worked in the non-profit sector with Jane Fonda's Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (GCAPP) which advocated for the rights of Adolescent Females throughout the state of Georgia.

In 2012, Founder Taisheka started her own Interior Design & Construction Firm, Adore Innovations, Inc. in Chicago, IL and now has projects in multiple States. Taisheka is also a board member of Reach One Mission International (R.O.M.I. USA), where she takes annual mission trips to East Africa. She has served the communities there by helping to build St. Margaret Girl's School in Homa Bay, Kenya, a multiple churches and a farm in Kayanga, Uganda, and starting a dual enrollment program in Nairobi, Kenya allowing Kenyan High School students to get an American curriculum education & graduate with a US diploma. Founder Taisheka is extremely passionate about impacting, empowering, and encouraging others to fulfill their God-given Purposes.
